Sunday Flea Market Hawl

Today was my monthly Flea Market trip. had fairly good luck there and crappy luck at the Walmart Supercentre at which I usually have good luck.

First table - $25.00 total

This guy allows me to look through his plastic totes that are usually under his tables as well as what is out on the tables. For $25.00 I got the following 7:

100% Hot Wheels Vintage Volkswagen Microbus

A red Panoz GTR-1 to go with my white one. I just admire the audacity Panoz demonstrated by building a front-mid-engine FIA GT car when everyone else was building rear-engined ones. Add the exhaust note of a Roush Racing Ford NASCAR V8 and you’ve got a winner in my books. I used to love racing one of these in one of my PC racing games, probably one of the Simbin ones, either GTR FIA GT Racing or its sequel, GTR Evolution.

Sidebar: speaking of PC racing games, I just bought two Codemasters games (I’ve been a little disappointed with their games recently), GRID Autosport and DIRT Rally, both from last year. I highly recommend both. I’m currently playing GRID, racing Super Utes and V8 Supercars at Mount Panorama (my favourite track for years in racing games) among many other cars & tracks.

2nd table - $4.00

A couple of loose VW vans at this table.

This one just says “Matchbox” and “VW Delivery Van” on the bottom, along with the scale at 1:53. The “VW” hubcaps are cool...

I may gift this one to my nephew who collects Coke stuff.

Herbie! Nothing more to say about it. Shame the wheels don’t match the package illustration... I bet I can find some MBX wheels that look like that.
