Bi-Weekly Flea Market Hawl

Yesterday was my bi-weekly trip into the big city to attend a car show (cancelled on account of heavy thunderstorms and a power outage) and also (mainly) to go to the Flea Market. I stopped by my favourite dealer, who hadn’t really rotated his stock - he promised he would before next week - but I still managed to find a few interesting casts. Without further ado, here are the 9 I got from him for $30.

Some Hot Wheels hot rods.

Not crazy about the colour, but I couldn’t pass up this 1956 Thunderbird.

A second ‘56 Thunderbird, this one an over-the-top “Zingers” version to go with my Zingers version of the 1970 Super Bee that I picked up a couple of months ago.

At another table I picked up these three pre-loved Hot Wheels for $5.00

A 1970 Road Runner. This example is the first release of this casting from the 1998 First Editions line.

A “Tooned” VW Bug. This is a Colour Shifter from 2011. The colour shifting coating is coming off (where the white patches show through). It turns dark blue when cooled.

A VW Sunagon, aka Transporter 3, aka T3, aka Vanagon. This example is the first release of this casting from the 1982 line.

Then on the way home I stopped by the local TRU and picked up these three. As usual, the TRU had no pegs for the Heritage line.

I checked the largest Walmart I go to whenever I’m in Halifax, and just like two weeks ago, they had 12 empty Heritage Line pegs.
