A few shiny ones

I’ve recently been pursuing redlines significantly more (my wallet completely agrees...) and found these beauties. A little background, these three cars came from what’s probably the first RLC cars. For a measly dollar in 1970, you could join the Hot Wheels Club and you would get a club magazine, a club patch, a membership card, and a special certificate. Oh yeah you would get one of three chrome cars as well.

Here are the three cars, one of which you may have ended up with:

Now when I say “may have ended up with” that means only one car came in the kit. So you could have had the (from left to right) King Kuda, Heavy Chevy, or Boss Hoss. Another interesting note is the King Kuda and Heavy Chevy came out the same year in the Spoiler’s line of cars, but the Boss Hoss wouldn’t appear in stores with the Spoilers until the next year.

The King Kuda and Heavy Chevy tend to bring higher prices because the Club Kit was marketed as only containing a Boss Hoss. It even came with a special “Silver Special” Boss Hoss metal button, but no “Silver Special” King Kuda and Heavy Chevy buttons were made. Neat!

Anywho, that’s enough for some history. Enjoy the pics:
