I found the auto world viper today and the no brained decision was to compare it to the equally yellow hot wheels version.
Right off the bat we notice the AW version has cleaner tampos that are placed correctly. The hot wheels looks a bit derpy with its off headlight tampo.
They both have good grille detail but AW is a step above with the tampo blacking out the grill. The hit wheels version at least does well with the headlight details.
The rear is owned by the AW. Excellent tampos and perfect placement. None from the HW. One thing the AW needs is wider rear wheels. The real life version has 13 inch wide tires in the back. Massive, so these need to be wider if they are going to tout their true 1/64 scale gimmick.
The proportions seem good on both but dare I say it, the hot wheels seems to capture the curves of the car better.
Up top you can notice they use different hoods. The HW has the gts hood while the AW has the standard hood. The AW is a bit shorter than the HW so I am trusting it is the right length.
As far as wheels go I prefer the hot wheels. It’s close to their venom wheels while the AW is nearly exact to the Rattler wheels.
Overall the AW is definitely the winner with its great tampos and replication to the real car. I do have to say hot wheels did a fine job especially since their car is a third of the cost.
Either way I have another great viper to add to the collection :D
