Just some 917's with a bit of history.
All of these are 1/64 Hot Wheels versions with the #22 Martini car coming from a certain VDH customs. Let’s delve into the race history.
First I’ll start out with the blue #23 car. This car didn’t have specific race history, but seems to be more of an hommage to other cars.

Back to that 1:64 car first with an image of another 917 in the famous salzburg livery
Next up: the #2 Gulf car.
Car won the 1970 AND 1971 24 hours of Daytona. Truly impressive. Driver by Pedro Rodriguez in both races, Leo Kinnunen and Brian Redman in 1970 and Jackie Oliver in 1971 with Pedro.

Got 2nd place at the 9 hours of Kyalami (South Africa) under the helm of Siffert and Ahrens. Mini-time!
Now for the one that started the real craze.
The #23 salzburg car that won the 24 hours of lemans in 1970. Driven by Hermann and Atwood.

And now for the main event. The car that won the 1971 LeMans.
Driven by Marko and Van Lennup. Maintained the LeMans distance record until 2010. EPIC.
Now for the rest of it. Philipilihp did a truly epic job with this car... it seriously blows my mind.

We all know the famous #20 car that starred in McQueen’s LeMans. It actually got a DNF under the hands of Siffert and Redman at the 1970 LeMans. Fortunately the movie fame has made this car the most expensive 917 sold at auction for $14 million. Definitely not that price for its racing pedigree, but seeing as how Porsche owns the most important 917's, we may never see what the auction prices could go up to
