I’ve been tired of the poor results I’ve gotten trying to photograph diecasts in my living room. So I picked up some cheap clip-on utility lights and spotlight bulbs to give me better light. I also dug out some old buildings from my childhood train layout to give me an interesting backdrop.

It came out even better than I’d hoped. I almost look like I know what I’m doing.

While the building is 1/87 scale, it works surprisingly well for 1/64 vehicles as well. It looks like a just the sort of shop that could be turning out interesting customs like these.

I found this Edsel in a Savers bag, and I’m a big fan of it, even though it has some bad paint chips.

I didn’t even know this car existed until I found several in a bin at the supermarket. Turns out the one I grabbed has some paint issues on the other side, so I’ll need to go back for a second one.
