I’ve been using the term “Improbable Garage” to refer to my vehicle & project related blogs & such for several years now(our slogan is “Anything is possible, just not very probable”). And it is now going to be the name of my scale tow fleet.
When I started collecting 1/64 diecasts again, I went hunting for tow trucks. I quickly picked up the Green light Durastar wrecker & flatbed, which are nicely detailed, even though they have no moving parts.
I also went hunting heavy wreckers, which I love.
I eventually found a Speccast Peterbilt wrecker on ebay for a reasonable price, with a very ugly paint scheme. I thought I’d fully removed it with acetone, but the picture shows a lot of remaining color that wasn’t visible to the naked eye. I guess it’ll need a proper dis-assembly & repaint before going into service.
I’m also trying to track down a couple of pickup truck sized wreckers, but am having little luck.
