I’ve been thinking of new ways to play with display my diecasts. I realized the other day I have a set of hutches in my bedroom that don’t get used.
While the tops have books in them, the desk surface is empty except for random junk that collects there, so I could easily give this area over to one big diorama.
It will be a slow project as money & time is tight right now, but I can do it in stages, and if I use some old 1/87 scale buildings from my childhood train layout I can avoid spending a lot of money.
What I need to figure out now is what to build. I’m planning on a sort of industrial strip because I know I want a garage & tow lot for my fake tow company(with probably a small junk yard). I also want someplace to “host” car shows, which could be a diner, or a repair garage. Any idea of what else to have? I mostly like realistic street cars & kustoms from the 50s. Though lately I have been getting into JDM customs & drift cars and muscle car era race cars.
