Since seeing Fury Road I’ve wanted to replicate this escort vehicle for the War Rig, despite it having very little screen time.

I found the perfect starter vehicle in this older Matchbox Rolls Royce. I actually found two of these a short time apart and sent the nicer one to philipilihp.

It turned out not to just be the paint that was nicer, this one had multiple bug silk sacs and a lot of unidentifiable bits trapped in the body.

Once it was disassembled I got out the dremel and went to town.

The roof & trunk lid were cut away, the rear seat was cut off the interior, and the paint was wire brushed off.

Some wider rear wheels were found in the donor box, and both axles slots were deepened to raise it up a little. Then the rear seat was put in backwards, the grab rail around the rear was fabricated from a paper clip, and a rear floor was made from some plastic card.

Here it is with the major paint work done, still some details to add, and final weathering & detailing to be done.
