Since part 4, I’ve sanded down the driveway aprons, cut in the sidewalk cracks, and finally put some paint on this thing.
This was the first coat of black, done with some semi-gloss craft paint I had lying around. Semi-gloss is definitely the wrong final sheen, but it was very effective at showing me every single bad spot in the plaster job.
Some of it is going to get fixed, some I’m not goign to worry about. But the biggest thing is I need to clean up the edge where the asphalt meets the sidewalk. It is too soft and blobbly in too many places.
So knowing I was going to have to do a bunch of sanding & some re-spackling, I did the only logical thing and put more paint on.
Obviously no detail painting has been done in these except the quickest of drybrushes on the dirt areas. But it is coming along. It will still need a lot of work to get to where I want it to look.
And here are some pics with buildings & vehicles quickly put in place to give you an idea of what is coming.
