A long, hard road

This was the other heavily weathered truck I’ve been working on. This International Transtar 4300 took longer as in addition to the weathering, it got nice quality tires robbed off another truck, and a completely custom designed & 3d printed front bumper.

I’m really proud of the bumper, as I started with nothing but some measurements from the front of the truck, and built the whole thing in tinkercad. This was version two, with some proportions adjusted from the first, as well as spot lamps and tow holes with pins added.

Iwas even able to mount it to the hood hinges, so it tilts with the hood instead of blocking it from opening

Along with the bumper, the whole truck got a thorough weathering. Again I wanted the look of a truck that had covered millions of miles of hard work. This truck turned out to have a paint defect on the right fender, so I did that area in grey primer, so it would look like it had gotten damaged and repaired, but no one had bothered to match the paint job.

At this rate my next diorama is going to have to be a truck repair shop, just so I have a place to park them all.
