This week French Friday starts with the goddess, la déesse, the magnificent Citroën DS. A car you all know probably, I suppose it even made it to the USA.
It's a '56 DS19, so it has the nice clean round headlights. Later models featured quad headlights behind glass, from which the inner ones turn to where the wheels are pointing to if I remember correct.
The model is a two-tone 1:43 from Solido. All details seem to be correct: wheels, indicators in the roof, even the position/shape of the exhaust. That exhaust actually stands out underneath the car:
Although in real life it probably starts before half-way the body. Tires seem awfully skinny but Euro spec cars in those days never had massive tires so it's not as bad as on last week's R5 Turbo from Norev.
I'm glad Citroën has started to make some more 'outstanding' cars again, this DS was nicknamed 'goddess' for a reason: it's simply divine.
Even my 2-year old loves it, she can't leave it alone when it's nearby.
Being a Solido it comes with both the blister packaging and a travelbox. Although I'm not sure if this is the correct one, I think the smaller one (these boxes come in two sizes) will suit it better. But I've got so many of these boxes laying around the house...
