Last week I showed a Kyosho rendition on the 993 RS, today we’re seeing a newer generation (997) with a turbo on it from Kyosho as well: The 911 GT2RS.
A little less colorful as I only have a white and silver one. That is pretty Teutonic and authentic though: silver as German race cars were called “Silberpfeile” for a reason and white as that simply is the best color in the world for a 911. Not biased here.
I never was a fan of the brutal turbo-tized engines in general actually. But after trying both a 996 Turbo and a 991 Carrera (downsized 3.0 with a turbo) recently I must admit the turbo has come a long way.
Throttle response hardly has a turbo-lag, pretty constant powerband, I actually have no complaints. They even sound awesome but nowadays I never can tell if this real or artificial.
I think Kyosho did a better job on this one than they did on the 993. Most important reason probably are those wheels, these are way better (probably easier as well) replicated.
Just those headlights could be fitting better. That actually is the only thing that bothers me with these. And I could use a more striking color to join these ;-)
The white one appears to be metallic/pearlescent so it doesn’t appear to be as constantly white.
So if you run into these Kyoshos from the Porsche Minicar Collection IV I’d strongly recommend to get ‘m. In 1:1 the 993 Carrera RS would win easily over this GT2RS but in Kyosho world this one beats it I’m afraid.
And that’s it for today. Wish you all a great week at work/study/whatever and sure hope to see lots of Teutonic greatness today.
Tschüss!
