On certain nights, when the moon is low in the sky, old number 68 appears searching for that Superfast double loop that was its demise.

The Glo-Racers launcher had been malfunctioning all day, it’s spring having grown weak from numerous prior launches, so it was stupid of him to try. But, 68 was never one to back down. Whether it be jumps from the dresser to the bed, or a perilous dive off the pool table into the beanbag chair, 68 had met every challenge.

But, the double-loop wasn’t meant to be. The second he hit the side of the launcher, he knew it was over. His only hope was that he didn’t make it far enough up the loop to tip over. But, 68 was a Superfast. The momentum took him nearly to the crest. Just a little more and he would have made it.

Gravity took over, and 68 dropped to the basement floor. He never would get another chance at that loop. Team USA was devastated.

Now its specter roams basement and game room floors looking for that second try. You might a glimpse of him some night. And if you have a fresh Glo-Racers launcher, leave it out for him. He deserves it.
