Hey everyone, this is my first official post on LaLD! I have been on Oppo for about six months so far and decided it was high time to join the diecast world. I have always been a collector, ever since I was three (I'm fifteen now) and have finally found a way to share my diecast possessions here. I also still 'play' with my cars, putting them in scenes and scenarios, so many of my pictures will probably be in a 'town'/realistic play setting. If you really want to read more about me and my boring life, here is a link to my first Oppo post.
Now, time for the Tomicas! I had asked my parents to fulfill my Christmas wish list a few weeks before the December holiday season, and though I was expecting some modicum of Japanese diecast to come my way, I hadn't precedented getting nearly everything on my list in addition to several MBX Super Convoys! So here I am, nearly three months late and ready to share pictures!
Nissan Juke, Nissan Note, Mitsubishi Outlander Sport (RVR) and Mitsubishi Triton at the Distribution Center of Diecast Village...
Honda CR-V and Nissan Rogue (X-Trail) dropping off some recycling (sideways, apparently...how does one make a portrait photo appear landscape?) Hey, nvm...looks like Kinja actually fixed itself for once...
Nissan Skyline (Infiniti Q50), Mercedes-Benz Citaro articulated, and Mitsubishi Fuso Super Great Car Carrier (Japanese truck names are the best!) at the suspension bridge...
Nissan Caravan NV350 and Hino Ranger fire truck, ready for action!
A single Micra, ready to fight crime!
Another distribution center, this one with a Civic Type-R, Nissan Leaf, Renault Megane RS, and Nissan Diesel Big Thumb Penguin Carrier (there's a Japanese truck name again...)
Porsche Boxster and Nissan Cima at the underground parking of the city bank...
Up front, a Honda Fit Shuttle and Prius V are parked next to a Bentley Continental...
At the hospital with a Honda CR-Z Safety Car, Lexus IS250, and Toyota Himedic...(not pictured are the Isuzu Giga Super Ambulance in the emergency garage and the Fiat 500 in the rear garage...) If you notice, there's a non-Tomica (green) Porsche 928 pulling into the hospital. I did that as a tribute to Jeremy visiting his father for the last time in a 928, as told in the Patagonia Special...
The Kindergarten, with a Legacy, i-MiEV, and Prius...In the driveway the indistinguishable black thing is the MBX Audi S6 Avant...
The Vellfire and Elgrand at the hospital and kindergarten which are driven by the doctor and kindergarten teacher, respectively...
Construction zone, with all a manner of dump trucks, forklifts, and scoopers (not shown is the asphalt paver in the foreground...)
Ice cream shop with food trucks out front, a Hustler in the drive-thru, a Swift loading up front, and a Walmart Kenworth making a wide turn...
The car wash in the process of cleansing a Toyota Corolla fielder...
One gas station with a Subaru Forester in the front, Unimog in the back...(and Siku Sprinter on top!)
Another gas station, this one with an N-One, Wagon R, and Audi A1...unfortunately, I forgot to put the N-BOX with it's younger brother...
Behind, an Orochi gets a checkup while three (beige) Toyotas sit aside waiting...
At the airport, three tour buses and an Escalade stretch limo were waiting along with other cars in the rear lot...
The entire town, as seen by airplane...
The TLVs, along with the Toyota Crown Comfort (black)
More TLV!
Tomica trucks are always in incredibly small scale... (Pictured: Germany vs. Japan!)
And I found this awesome Volvo box truck lying around the other day so I decided to keep up with the diecast liberation movement! Viva la LaLD!
Anyways, I've chosen to focus (haha, see the MBX Focus next to the car wash) mainly on the Tomicas this round, though if anyone has any questions regarding either Tomicas or other vehicles you might see, feel free to comment/ask. I probably don't know where they came from other than my mother's sewing room (since my dad used to buy a lot of diecast back in the early 2000's) but I can tell you what they are to send you on your search! Btw, I apologize for poor image quality, this is my first time shooting diecast and the lighting conditions weren't great (It was the second rainy day we've had since 2015! #NorCal)
