Boley is probably not one of the names that come to mind when you think of 1:64 diecast. Actually, you probably don't think of Boley in any scale of diecast since it seems that they mostly feature in very cheaply made toys for children. However, they do have several nice details and castings that I want to point out. I picked up this pack several years ago at a Walmart under the brand "Kid Connection" as a curiosity since it seemed like each model actually tried to portray an actual vehicle. I believe that the entire set was about ~$15-20, which is kind of expensive for cheap diecast, but they did come with their own carrying case. Anyways, a photo shoot follows, with a small caption for each describing what I think it could be.. (Still kind of new at this diecast photography thing, excuse the mediocre pictures...)
Racing truck, probably based off of Hot Wheels design...
Aston Martin Vantage (you can tell that it's the poverty spec model...)
Tenth Gen F150 with generic rear...
Hummer H2 (probably)
Peugeot 807 (not sure why it's represented, but I like it....also doubt it has three skylights even though the Quest used to have five...)
Chevy Apache panel van
E63 BMW 6 Series (again, poverty spec...)
Ferrari 308 (you can tell from the side scoop)
Unknown but really familiar looking hatchback...(suggestions?)
Porsche 911 (with hood scoop for some reason)
BMW 6 Series (E24) - one of my favorites from this pack, really...
C6 Corvette with a really wonky ride height...
Mazda RX-8 (again, one that I really like, wish there was more rear detail though...)
Lamborghini Murcielago (nothing to say about it, though it does have a few nice details)
Now, generally these cars are pretty basic (but I really like the clear plastic headlights which are great for the price range) and their undersides are the same...
See, for the Murcielago there's nothing more than the molding for the seats, some fake underbody shapes, and some production details with nary a manufacturer's name...
Then we get to the Kenworth T2000...
The trailer is really nothing special, and neither is the truck...
...until you take a closer look! The bumper plastic is really nice, with molded in steps, and there are separate chrome pieces!
And that's when you find the manufacturer's name...
Here is their carrying case, with a plastic thingy to block out the sunlight...
Since it was a usually sunny day here in Saratoga, CA! (Sorry to all of those who live anywhere east of here, save a few southern states...)
Anyways, any comments or questions? I need suggestions on what the green hatchback could be... :P
