Holiday HAWL Part 2: Under the Christmas Tree Edition

You may or may not have seen my Holiday HAWL Part 1 post on Monday. If you did, you may recall the fact that Jobjoris’ Christmas package only just arrived last Friday. Due to a manner of different factors, it was delayed during the holiday bustle and so took nearly three weeks to arrive! In the meantime, my parents were able to find some substitutes (at my suggestion) to fill the space under the tree on Christmas morning! Here are some pictures from this part of the holiday HAWL...

One of the several Hitch and Hauls that I found, I particularly like this one because of the full scale car trailer as well as the lovely livery adorning the convoy as a whole.

I love the utilitarian nature that the black plastic bumpers and pushbar lend this Ram, and the tonneau cover is a awesome touch as well!

This is a personal favorite as well. I love castings of ordinary cars (like the C5 Touring) and so this brown Explorer fits the bill perfectly, and it looks marvelous hauling the teal boat!

One of my first 1:64ish scale trucks, this ambulance has some very nice touches such as the translucent light bar and very accurate International grille.

This nicely detailed Challenger from the Muscle line has an opening hood to show its monstrous V8! It is the perfect show car to haul in the Hitch and Haul trailer of the Ram.

A pair of Beetles! Both have rather accurately casted steel wheels with the VW hubcaps in the center, and the pinstriping on the cream one is rather delightful!

My dad admitted to me that he was pretty chuffed upon being able to secure both a panel version as well as a window version for the VW Microbus, and I’m very thankful for that as well because they provide a lovely contrast to each other!

This Mustang suffers a bit from Greenlight syndrome wherein one of the rear wheel arches is cast improperly, but the car still rolls (somewhat) and it looks great in this shade of green!

Another instance of Greenlight build quality can be seen with the pushbar of this Charger, which falls out periodically. Besides that, the livery is spot on and I love the fact that the hood opens to show a rather mundane engine shrouded in plastic, definitely some excellent accuracy.

These two Crown Vics are superb as well, with the chrome wheels being a particularly nice attention to detail (would have been better with steelies though!) The red one also has a bit of rear wheel arch error, but the white one rolls like a dream.

Have never seen Black Bandit and don’t plan on doing so, but these two I am pleased to add to my collection. The Bronco is simply marvelous, with the intricate rollbar and chassis detail. The Ram looks striking in its black livery as well, sporting the push bar with pride. (P.S. Can anyone let me know if/how the Ram’s hood opens? I have tried multiple times to no avail, so I must either be doing something wrong or it isn’t meant to be opened...)

A comparison of old and new! Both the Volt and the Bel Air are nicely represented in grey, and the clear lenses on the Volt as well as the Bel Air’s hood ornament are magnificent details.

This trio of Chryslers from small to gigantic is definitely a welcome addition due to my affinity for the ordinary and mundane, and the accurate wheels for each model are a definite plus.

In addition to this collection of Greenlight, my first introduction to upper class American diecast, I also received the recent Lego Technic LeMans supercar set! Took me several hours Christmas morning but here it is in all of its gull-winged glory!

There’s a working V8 in there, you just can’t see it ;)

Finally, on a somewhat unrelated note, this was waiting under our tree at home after we returned from our Southern California trip. It may seem like an ordinary tractor, but the working pneumatics on the trailer are awesomely cool!
