This is finally the end of my Holiday HAWL series, quite an unexpectedly large one this year. From Greenlights, Norevs, Auto Worlds to Sikus, this final collection of seven Hot Wheels may seem relatively plebeian in comparison but to me it is one of my most important HAWLs in years. About a week prior to December break, I went out with a few friends to lunch. These friends are very close to me because we have known each other for the past six years (nearly half of our lifetimes) but last year they chose to attend the local community college program since it was more in line with their career paths than high school was. Anyways, despite our close relationship they have never truly known about my love for cars and diecast. That changed however, when after lunch I went with one of the girls to go to Target and help her with her holiday shopping. We went throughout the store getting gifts for our other friends and she kept asking me what I wanted. I kept denying that I wanted anything that she mentioned until we reached the diecast aisle. She was delighted that we finally found something that I liked, and was enthusiastic enough to even help me choose some of them (and she chose rather well, choosing the Jag, Shelby, and Challenger!) We left with seven Hot Wheels which she gave to me last week, wrapped up as a belated Christmas present. Picture time!
