Found a bottle of nail polish remover in the bathroom and remember reading somewhere that this could be used to remove the tampos off Hot Wheels cars. So, I had a spare Morris Mini lying around and decided to experiment.
Sure enough, a few rubs with a cotton ball dipped in the stuff, and the tampos came off. What I didn't realise was the coloured rims was affected by it too. So the end result is a plain reddish Mini with black rims, which actually looks quite good.
I don't have the time and skills to start customising yet, but I do like how a simple method such as this gives a diecast a whole new look.
