So I am currently in Hong Kong for work and decided to drop by the Toys ‘R’ Us close by. The diecast selection was quite poor and the only thing I wanted was this Volkswagen Type II. This is from the newish Tomica Premium series which I am still unsure about. I have only got this one so I cannot really say whether I like it or not at this point. I need to get the Nissan Skyline and the Mazda RX-7 to make up my mind.
The paint and build quality is on par or better than some regular Tomicas. Gone are the generic ugly wheels that they usually use. They still give the bouncy-bouncy feel which I like, and the windows are transparent rather than the lazy painted-over ones some of the recent Tomicas have.
Over the weekend, I will do some proper shopping at Tai Yuen Street where I am anticipating a surge to my credit card balance due some heavy TLV shopping.
