So back in the late 90’s, I worked with a guy who rotisserie restored a 1969 Mustang Boss 302. At the time, I still had my ‘66 coupe and I was collecting a small number of Hot Wheels. So one day, he comes in to work and gives me this gem!

This is a ‘67 Ford Mustang GT from the Avon Park ‘n Plates series from 1998. Just look at those little details! The light bars, the taillights, the little GT on the rocker stripe!

This is one of my favorite cars in my collection. Here is another one for comparison, from the Hippie Mobile collection.

Obviously, the tampos represent the series, but also, they left out things like the black grill and painted taillights. And it truly looks like the white one has painted elements rather than just tampos. In the end, this is another example of Hot Wheels at it’s best. To be honest, I don’t hate the hippie motif since this car was around then and it’s fun, but the white one is just so good.
