So I gave a brief description of this car in my Hawls post earlier but again, this is the Buddy Repperton Camaro from the movie, Christine. It, like Buddy, met an untimely death in the movie. This cast, a slight redesign of the original Custom Camaro done back in 1983, has held up much better than other aging casts with the hood still lining up really well and the edges are still still straight, unlike the ‘65 Mustang convertible they’ve cast to death.

The details are very good on this car but, this year of Camaro didn’t have a lot of exterior details to begin with. The hood and fender emblems are there , but the taillight panel is the highlight. Blacked out with full taillight detail including the silver surround and the gas cap make this car look exceptional for a Hot Wheel.

Now I know that the wheels/tires are huge but I grew up in an era when 60’s muscle cars were cheap. And spare parts were plentiful because the manufacturers used the same parts on all sorts of cars. This also meant you could change the look of the cars, giving it a rake that jacked the rear end up. I knew a guy in high school that had a Camaro just like this in blue and it’s pretty accurate. The tires are still too big, though.

Honestly, I like Camaros. I think they are great cars. Without them, the Mustang program would’ve been shut down a long time ago. The history of the Camaro and Mustang are forever intertwined and it’s for this reason I am presenting a Camaro today instead of a Mustang.
