As we recently saw, the Verde Mantis Maisto Performante is a stunning car. For $15, you really can’t go wrong with it.
Surprisingly, I found the car to one-up that model. Although you can find that version at any of the big three member-exclusive warehouse stores, the Rosso Mars version is Costco exclusive for now. It has the gloss black Narvi y-spoke wheels and the Nero interior.
I now own both and can wholeheartedly tell you I prefer this one. They’re both great, but there’s just something about this one that I can’t quite explain.
While it’s nowhere near as nice as the AutoArt Performante, it’s certainly very nice when you factor in the price difference. It’s based on the casting for the Bburago Huracan, so you don’t get suspension.
The metallic Rosso Mars certainly provides a stark visual contrast from the pearlescent Verde Mantis of the other version. They’re both great, but this one is a little bit nicer.
As with the Bburago Huracan, they certainly captured the essence of what makes the Performante look so special. Unfortunately, we find normal gloss black plastic in lieu of the chopped carbon fiber trim with a marble effect that makes the real one look sublime.
It still looks great regardless. I love how it has the Lamborghini launch license plate and the rear parking sensors.
The Narvi wheels look nice, but I would’ve loved to have seen the Loge 5 y-spoke wheels.
The 5.2 V10 is now painted gold to make it look extra special; as if the rest of the car didn’t do that already.
The interior isn’t very different from the Bburago Huracan aside from the carbon fiber bucket seats and a few minuscule details in the trim and layout.
As much as I loved the Bburago Huracan, this takes that casting and moved it up to a whole new level.
If you like Lamborghinis and have $15 burning a hole in your pocket next to your Costco membership card, do yourself a favor and buy it.
Get a chicken bake and churro while you’re at it. Just don’t eat too many free samples beforehand.
