That is friendship! I can’t call to many people in this world and in this hobby a true friend cause at the drop of a hat they will stab you in the back to get ahead. One person I know hasn’t nor will he and that’s Matt aka Mattylightning drives the ThunderBolt GreaseSlapper. We have known each for it’s gotta be around 10 or more years. Weren’t always friends at first just acquaintances at some of the local shows. At one of these shows it all changed with 1 thing and it wasn’t even a die cast car it was this!
A 1997 Toy biz 10 inch Deadpool figure this was around the time deadpool started gaining popularity before any talks of the movie and I’d seen him on instagram posts. Any ways he had him for sale for a low price but no weapons and I was more than happy to get him. Matt tells me to hold up and looks in the box he had him in and pulls out both weapons and as he like to tell it my eyes lit up to have a complete figure and he knew right there we were going to be best buds cause he knew I wasn’t getting him cheap to turn him into fast cash on eBay.
From that moment we have been close buds long phone conversations and at the shows we’ll just shoot the sh*t about any thing.
He has also helped me out with filling in spots in my collection or finding stuff I didn’t know was around like this
Some what rare Revell “Collectible Chevy” ‘96 Impala. I had always seen the low rider versions but never knew this was around. Once again he didn’t have to be offered this (and a few other impalas and caprices) for trade to me when he could have easily separated this one and made a good profit for just that car alone.
Now recently the Back to the future 3 car set and johnny lighting time machine
And I do owe him big time for it and he knows it might take me some time he knows I’m good for it!
That’s way it’s been for the longest time he’ll find something I like and l’ll find something he likes and we work out the trades or payments and not worried of one of skipping out of town.
Once again thank you Matt for all that you have done and put up with my BS on impalas, caprices, back to the future/DeLorean and Deadpool lol.
