One of the great things about coming down to visit my in-laws, besides hanging out with them (seriously, my in-laws are awesome), is that they’ve got some great places around for my to fulfill my nerdy/car guy-ness all at once. There are some great comic shops, great car dealerships (Lambo, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Bentley, etc.), and one particular comic/collectibles shop that always has the best HWs to pick through of any place I’ve ever been.
So needless to say, the very first place I went (after taking the wife to Ikea) was to this shop. They’ve got everything you could imagine there. If it’s nerdy and collectible, they’ve got it. The reason I went, obviously since I’m posting it on here, was the diecast. Their selection was amazing. They had everything from carded mainlines going back to the early ‘90s, to HW Boulevards, Cool Classics, Retro Entertainment, Johnny Lighting, some larger scale stuff, and even a case of loose cars.
I had to limit myself budget wise so as not to anger the wife, but I did pick up a pretty nice HAWL in my opinion (more on that in a later post). For now though, I just want to share with you some pics of the awesomeness that this place is.
I really wanted to pick this up and have a classic Treasure Hunt in my collection, but as you can see, the thing is just beat to heck. The blister pack is crumpled, the card has a tear/hole in the back, and both axles are bent. Sadly, I had to leave this one behind. Maybe next time I come down they’ll have something better waiting for me.
Had to include the Transformer because it’s Jazz as a Martini liveried Porsche 935. Still thinking about going back and getting it...
