Let me start this post off first by saying one thing: I love my wife. We’ve started packing our stuff to move in two months and have been going through all of our books. She knew how much I wanted the Porsche set, so she said that I could take a bunch of books that we weren’t going to read again or had duplicate copies of to the local used book store, and that any cash I got for them I could use for the Porsche set.
Well, I managed to get $15 for the bag of books I took in on my lunch break today!!! So I high-tailed it to the Walmart by my office where, if you remember from my last post on the subject, I had shamelessly stashed a full set in a bicycle basket on the top shelf, thinking I was going to be able to come back until I got paid on Monday and would probably find only remnants of the Porsches left.
I went to my stash spot and found my set still there and snatched it up immediately. And then having a little extra cash, I went by the dump bins to see what there was. I grabbed a second 917K and 993 GT2 to go on my desk at work. I also found the new Datsun 240Z, Drifsta (because of the Speedhunters livery), Aston Martin Vantage GT3 and Acura NSX. The Aston and the NSX I’ve got on the way from Enginerrrrrrrrr as part of our HWEP because I didn’t think I was going to find them anytime soon, but I wanted to make a custom of each of them as well, so I went ahead and picked up a second one of each. This, by far, is my biggest HAWL to date, hahaha. I’m just glad I was able to get the full set before they disappeared!
