So, I believe my previous record was 12 in one trip. Now I’ve got a new high score! And part of it’s for charity!!! I went to the TRU by my office to pick up a few things for a charity drive put on by our CEO. The local children’s hospital has played a very big role in his and his children’s lives and it’s a very near and dear thing to him. So for his birthday, he asked that we donate a bunch of toys to help them replenish their stock for the kids birthdays. They get huge donations around Christmas, but during the summer months they start to run low. One of the things they were asking for was Hot Wheels cars! I figured I could certainly pick out a few cool ones to add to pile of stuff.
So on my lunch break today, the wife and kids came up and met me at the office so we could grab a bite to eat and head to the toy store. My daughter has recently made huge steps in potty training (Praise the Lord) so we got her a treat as well. When we went down the Hot Wheels isle, I found they had literally just restocked it. (I overheard an employee talking about just finishing that up within the last hour). And it was almost all new stuff too! So I managed to grab the Tesla Model S and Cadillac Elmiraj I’ve been searching all over for, as well as a few other new releases for myself, and then picked 10 cars for the donation. Meanwhile my wife and kids went over to look for a few girl toys to add to the donation.
All in all, it was a really cool trip. I was able to get some cool new casts and able to give some really cool casts as well and know that someday soon, some kid at the hospital is gonna have a smile on their face when they get some new Hot Wheels cars!
