This was my first ever time at a K Day event, and it was quite an interesting experience. From everything I’ve read about how these events are supposed to go down, I believe I can truly say the event at my store was a complete disaster. When I arrived, I was given a ticket, and told would be called up in the order that we arrived. There wasn’t any random drawing or anything like the way I’ve read it’s supposed to go. So, being that I got there at 8:45, there were a few people ahead of me. We only had two boxes (4 K Day cases per box, so 8 cases total). Then, as far as having each person only open one case, that wasn’t how it went either. The first guy only got to go through one case. Then the second guy came up and the lady working the event put another case out. Then, as other people took their turn (0ne at a time), the cases were just randomly put out until all 8 were on the table. And each person could go through all of the cases that were open when it was their turn. Thankfully, our store didn’t have a Super, only Mainline Superbirds, so I coudln’t really be disappointed that the event wasn’t run properly. One guy did grab all three of the Rogue Hog regular TH’s though. I still got some good stuff though, and got my 20 so that I can get the ‘64 GMC Panel truck. Hopefully I can get their earlier for the next K Day and have a better shot at things.
