Quick Sharpie Custom: Ferdinand Gets Detailed

I’ve been meaning to do this for some time now, but I just keep forgetting. I got a spare 993 GT2 when they first came out so that I could have one on my desk. I promptly named him Ferdinand and he was the Top Cast of the office. But the red ring on Ferdinand’s wheels bothered me (and him as well; he felt they were too flashy for a serious racing car). I wanted a more blacked-out, more detailed look for him, while still keeping the original tampos. Ferdinand agreed. So I scratched the red foil rings off the wheels a while ago, but kept forgetting to grab Sharpies to do the other details. After much pestering from Ferdinand, I finally remembered to pick up a couple Sharpies last night while I was in Lowe’s getting some pluming supplies last night (replacing a sink and vanity that had old messed up plumbing and trying to get it work with new PVC piping really is a pain). I got both a regular fat tip and a fine tip. I used the fat tip for the majority of the wing and I used the fine tip for the air vent, front grille, rivets, and the edges of the wing. My hand wasn’t quite as steady as I hoped, and Ferdinand was being impatient, so there a few places where I colored outside the lines, hahaha. I think it’s a great improvement though and Ferdinand is pleased. He has also requested that he be given some proper taillights instead of just an outline, so I’ll have to get a red Sharpie the next time I’m in Walmart. Sharpies really are a wonderful thing.

You can see I didn’t quite make the right shape on the side wing mount and got a little smudged on the rivets for the main wing. (Ferdinand hasn’t noticed yet).
