I’m writing this post prior to midnight, but I know it won’t post until a little bit later than that. Please forgive my tardiness. My last few pieces of my Tomica order finally came in from Japan this week, which I will feature as I have time. This one I wanted to go ahead and bust-out today though, to honor French Friday! What is it you ask? It’s a Renault Megane RS, upfit to be used as a patrol car for the Gendarmerie’s Brigade Rapide D’Intervention (BRI), aka France’s highway patrol. These cars are amazingly quick and look awesome in real life. Here are some pictures of the 1:1 version:
Being that I love police cars, I’m always on the look out for cool diecast versions. I also took French as my foreign language for both high-school and college, so the Gendarmerie livery is something I’ve always admired; simple, yet effective. Plus, I mean, that blue. Just wow. I want all my cars painted that color! Ok, enough of the real-world stuff. That’s not why your on this blog, amirite? So on to the Tomica version! (I apologize in advance for the quality. These were all shot with my phone because I forgot to charge my camera).

Looks like the Skyline got stopped for speeding on the highway. At least he pulled over.
“Oh non! C’est la Gendarmerie ! Partir en courant!”
Uhoh, the Skyline ran. And the Gendarmerie are in hot pursuit!
The Skyline missed a shift! The Gendarmerie close the gap!
They had to resort to the PIT maneuver!
Poor Skyline didn’t even have a chance. Too bad the driver wasn’t able to open up that cars true potential. Maybe next time...
