Finally Painted Something

I’ve had this cast stripped for quite some time now (like a year, at least). I’ve never had the time or the room to really work on it and paint it. That is until now.

So, not too bad for my second attempt at painting it. I’ve already painted and stripped it once. Seeing a few tiny spot in the cracks that were a little ZAMAC-ey, I wasn’t too concerned. This is more of an experiment than anything. So I moved on to stage two: the details. Here, I forgot to take pics. But all I did was add yellow headlights, black kidney grilles, black hood vents, and and red tailights. Nothing crazy.

Finally, here it is after spraying on the clear, and using my cell phone camera with the flash. I only just now see how thin the paint was and how it really did need at least one more coat. But, I’ve already done the clear. So, I’m debating whether to just leave it how it is or strip it again and start on round 3. For those of you much more experienced with this sort of thing, any thoughts, tips, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
