Maisto Macca Monday

I teased it for a week, but here it is finally! My new (to me) 1/18 1993 McLaren F1 road car by Maisto. I don’t get to dip in to the 1/18 scale too often given their typical high price and size contrasting my current lack of storage/display space and diecast budget. But the bug bit me a few weeks back while on vacation when I picked up another Maisto 1/18 (Nissan 350Z NISMO S-Tune). Ever since, I’ve been browsing ebay seeing what kind of deals I could find. And thanks to ebay’s “Make an offer” option, I picked up this F1 a lot sooner than I thought I would, lol. The car was made in four colors that I know of (blue, dark gray, silver, and green), and I told myself that since it was a British car, I would hold out for British Racing Green. Needless to say, I didn’t have to wait long. And within five business days of purchase, the car was sitting on my doorstep. So here it is in all it’s glory!

The only real flaw on the car: The right side of the sticker for the McLaren badge on the nose is peeling a little.

Sure, it’s not as detailed as an AutoArt of Minichamps or Kyosho, but it still looks great in the sunlight!
