A few weeks back, I saw on Instagram that Urban Outlaw was offering a free UO edition Hot Wheels car from their upcoming 2018 releases (VW Kafer Racer or Mini Cooper). I had already been browsing their shirts and just hadn’t actually placed an order yet. So the timing was perfect.
When I placed my order, there was a little section for additional requests. I semi-jokingly put that it’d be amazing if Magnus could autograph the Hot Wheels car. I just assumed this would go to some distribution site, get a chuckle and a “Keep dreaming kid...” comment from whoever was packing the orders and just have a cool little extra with my shirt when the package arrived. But then, the package arrived, and the car slid out first...
I saw it was absolutely speechless. Magnus actually saw the request and signed it!!!!!!! I was assuming that he had someone else taking care of his orders (apparently he does; it’s his wife, lol). I was not expecting him to actually see the request himself, let alone gift me the autograph!!! I was sitting in the car completely dumbfounded when I opened the box and my wife looked at me like I had lost my mind (which is actually pretty standard, but I digress).
This to me is cooler than any Super Treasure Hunt or Green Machine or chase piece of any kind. I know it’s just a mainline, and definitely not the first one he’s autographed, and I’m sure it won’t be the last. But this is the only one autographed to me. And that makes it a 1 of 1 in my book. I’m going to have to come up with a cool display for this thing. Anyways, happy Tuesday!
