So, I found a yard sale today. Nothing really interesting, until I find this:
...a 2011 First Editions '70 GTO Judge.
I found it at the bottom of a bin full of kids toys, and when I asked how much for it, they said I could have it for free.
For a Hot Wheels car that's been in the possession of kids, it's in pretty good shape.
The only real issues are a couple little paint chips (very small, I've only spotted 4 of them: one on the front splitter, one on the right rear fender, and two around the right tail light) and the axles.
As you can see from the second pic, the right sides of the axles are rusted. The right rear is rusted to the point that you have to force the wheel to spin, and the right front is slow to spin on it's own, but it still spins freely.
I'm thinking of having some custom work done on this in the future, and I've got three potential jobs that could be done:
1. Keep the paint the same color, touch up work on the chipped areas and replace the tampo on the right front fender (it's a little nicked up, possibly left the factory like this) and replace axles and wheels with RRMAG wheels and BFGoodrich Real Riders tires.
2. Have it painted Verdoro Green with appropriate replica tampos. Wheel and axle replacements are the same as Option 1.
3. Just like Option 2, but painted Atoll Blue, same wheels and tires as Options 1 and 2.
Regardless of what I decide on, I'll likely at least WD-40 the axles to see if I can get the wheels spinning properly.
