[HAWL] Big Hawlin'!

How quickly fortunes change. Last Friday and this Monday, I couldn't hardly find any good cars to buy.

Today was totally different.

On Tuesday, I mentioned to Frosted about my searches and that all I got my hands on was a Hot Wheels Porsche Panamera and a Matchbox BMW 1M Coupe. Let's start there.

Then, I was at Dollar General today. That's when my first stoke of luck happened.

Right on the back of a lower peg at the end of an aisle...

...a California Highway Patrol Fox body SSP Mustang! It looks so awesome in person.

Then, I went to a different Walmart, where the pegs were loaded with new D Case cars. I also picked up two older cars I hadn't got my hands on until now. Let's start there.

Hiway Hauler 2 - I didn't exactly like this casting at first when it was released last year, but it's certainly grown on me.

Pedal Driver, which is apparently another LEGO Minifig compatible car.

Now, for the new D Case cars. I ended up a dozen of them. Starting with the New for 2015s.

'15 Ford F-150 - Remember last year when the '90 Civic EF was released and usually had certain tampos (trim and pillars, mainly) that weren't on the car correctly? Well, it seems the new F-150 suffers from that a little bit, but certainly not Civic EF bad.

Winning Formula - This one's powered by a 2.4 liter twin-turbo V8, so it's powertrain is a bit of a fusion of old school F1 and modern F1, and a great looking casting that I wish modern F1 cars looked a bit more like.

GT Hunter - This new casting has some rather extreme bodywork and looks like it would be just as at home at Pikes Peak as it would on the race course. Exposed twin-turbo engine, really nicely done casting with plenty of body detail. Definitely high on my list of favorite New for 2015 castings.

Now, for the rest of them...

Fast 4WD - This was one of my favorite new castings of 2014, and I'm still kicking myself for not grabbing the 2014 version yet. This 2015 version looks even cooler, with an awesome paint job and bright green chassis that looks great with the silver paint.

Torque Twister - A slick looking muscle car casting that's been around since 2010. The purple paint and basketball tampos look really good, possibly the best paintjob on this casting to date.

'67 Austin Mini Van - For the first time, this casting is available as a more accessible Mainline offering. Very cool paintjob to boot.

The Jetsons Capsule Car - I was unable to get my hands on this model last year, but this year is different. First I found The Snoopy, now I find this Jetsons car the first time I find D Case cars. Loving the clear wheels.

Eevil Weevil - Likely the oldest casting to be offered in the 2015 mainline, this one's been around for nearly 30 years (in fact, the casting turns 30 in 2016)! Really loving the old fashioned chassis casting of this one. Looks absolutely sinister.

Ferrari 599XX - Unfortunately, this isn't the Super Treasure Hunt version, but the plainer mainline model. Seems Ferrari fans really wanted to get their hands on the last HW Ferrari release, as this was the only 599XX in the entire store!

'90 Honda Civic EF - Fortunately, this version of last year's popular new model doesn't suffer from tampo errors as the 2014 version did. The paint color meant that they didn't need to use a B pillar tampo, and since the side tampo took up almost the entire side, it was able to be placed on more correctly. In fact, the tampos of the whole car are placed on as intended with no errors to be found.

Porsche 911 GT3 RS - Great to see the GT3 RS in the mainline once again, though this one's looking a little lackluster. Mine's even missing a little piece of the right headlight tampo.

'74 Brazilian Dodge Charger - I figured this was gonna look really good, as I thought it was gonna be red paint. Nope, it's even better with what turns out to be a really nice deep purple metalflake paintjob. Could do with a bit less flame, but still looking really good. Perhaps someone here will strip the tampos off to really show off this car's awesome paint.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find the Treasure Hunt Fast Felion, either. Maybe I'll find it somewhere else. Who knows?

Still, all in all a great selection of cars to add to my growing collection.
