Headed to Walmart today and see if they put out E batch cars yet.
When I got there, I was greeted by a Hot Wheels section in the main aisle that was filled with the same old stuff as usual, older case models and 2014s.
Then, I spot this car on a lone peg...
The 2012 Ford Fiesta, an E case release for 2015.
After looking through and finding nothing else from the new batch, I went around to the endcap, two aisles over.
There, I was greeted by a selection of E batch cars. But there were some that I wanted that weren't there. No Volkswagen Beetle TH, no McLaren P1, no '71 El Camino, no Homer (not complaing TOO much, since I just recently got a Retro Entertainment Homer), no '69 Camaro convertible, no Backdrafter, no Monster Dairy Delivery.
But, I did get 8 other really cool cars.
2015 Ford Mustang GT (getting lucky finding cars I couldn't get my hands on in the 2014 mainline)
'68 COPO Camaro
'69 Ford Mustang Boss 302 (sadly not a Super, but still pretty awesome)
BMW E36 M3 Race (now I have this casting in 2014 and 2015 form)
HW Poppa Wheelie (looks even better than the original, which looked great)
Muscle Tone (had this casting as a kid, really glad to have one in my new collection)
Ryura LX (was waiting to decide if I'd get the light blue one or not, then found out it was being released in orange, so I decided to get this one instead)
Speed Slayer (really cool looking new casting, and a great source of thin wheels for customizers who want them.
This casting might not be the best for customization itself, though. The body is plastic, with a metal chassis.
Customization might be best left to more experienced customizers, so if you wanna use the wheels from this and then customize the car itself, you might be better off leaving it to someone with more experience. But of course, that shouldn't be too hard on a site like this, right?)
Description: Land-speed champ with 2 extra large jet engines and massive air intakes to feed the beast. It's a flat-out leader — ready, willing and able to destroy the competition.
Lastly, is the car I got the other day (the same day I got my Retro Entertainment Homer).
It's a '69 Trans Am from the 2013 Mystery Models Series 2 early batch (I've seen the second batch of 2013's in stores (I've got two: the '63 T-Bird and the Lotus Elise) and the new 2015s (Got the Viper, Firepower, and TR6), but this is actually the first time I saw the first batch of 2013s, two years after they were released.
Not bad, overall. Still a lot of really good E case cars to find, but hopefully I'll find them soon enough. If not, maybe I'll be able to trade for them at some point.
