So, as I mentioned in an earlier post, I went to a mall today that had a vendor selling older diecast cars.
I had brought my camera to take pics of what they had, but completely forgot to take any pics. Epic fail.
But, I made out great with the cars I got, some of them are ones I had as a kid.
Brace yourselves for a big photodump.
1998 Matchbox Cool Concepts:
- Chrysler Atlantic Concept (gold)
1996 Model Series:
- Audi Avus Quattro Concept (red, never had this casting as a kid)
- GM Ultralite Concept (white/black, this thing weighs more than you'd expect for an 'Ultralite', another car I didn't have as a kid)
1997 First Editions:
- Mercedes-Benz C-Series (black, had two of these as a kid, both met a terrible fate courtesy of a cinder block, I guarantee this one won't suffer the same fate)
- 1997 Ford F-150 (red, never really realized how long the bed is until now)
1998 4-Car Series
- Chevrolet Lumina APV (Lumina Van, green/black, never had this as a kid, it just caught my attention and couldn't leave without it)
1998 First Editions:
- Mercedes-Benz SLK (yellow, very solid little Benz, the one I had as a kid took a beating and still remained in decent physical shape)
- Bad Mudder (white/red/blue)
- IROC Firebird (gold, interesting fact: comparing this version with a recent multipack exclusive IROC Firebird, there's a slight difference in the chassis, with the newer one lacking two frame bars in the rear)
- Dodge Caravan (purple) (did some research, turns out this is a diecast version of the 1997 Dodge Caravan R/T Concept)
- Dodge Concept Car (Copperhead, orange)
- Escort Rally (white/blue, was gonna trade for one, but now someone else can get their hands on that one)
- Chrysler Thunderbolt Concept (silver/purple)
1998 Sugar Rush Series:
- '95 Camaro (blue/white/red - Nestle Crunch, picture came out worse than the rest, too lazy to retake)
- '96 Mustang Convertible (yellow/blue/white - Nestle Butterfinger)
1999 First Editions:
- Chrysler Pronto Cruiser Concept (yellow/black, as a kid I had two Pronto Cruisers, a Hot Wheels one and a Maisto one, plus a Maisto Pronto Spyder, PT Cruiser, and Panel Cruiser)
1999 Sugar Rush Series II:
- Pikes Peak Celica (white/red/blue - Nestle SweeTarts)
2000 First Editions:
- 1999 Isuzu VehiCROSS (silver/black)
- Dodge Power Wagon Concept (silver)
2000 Model Series:
- Pontiac Rageous Concept (blue/black)
2002 First Editions:
- Honda Spocket Concept (red/silver, as a kid, I always called this one the Sprocket, not realizing there's no 'r' in the name...but what the heck is a Spocket?)
2015 HW City - HW Performance:
- '71 El Camino (black/pink/white, one of the coolest paint jobs of 2015 so far)
2015 HW City - Tooned
- The Homer (Green, to go along with my Retro Entertainment one)
2015 HW Workshop - HW Garage
- McLaren P1 (orange/black, finally found one of these, now I've got one of each of the big three hybrid supercars (P1, LaFerrari, 918))
So, that means I got 21 cars at the mall (They were $1 each, or 7/$5. I got 21/$15 + $0.08 tax for each dollar spent), plus 3 at Walmart at 88 cents (HW cars are on Rollback now, usually $0.97 each) + $0.08 tax for each dollar spent.
So, in total, 24 cars for $19.04. That comes out to 24 cars for about 76 cents each. Overall, a real bargain.
This is probably one of, if not THE greatest HAWL I've ever had, and probably one of the greatest ever seen on this site. What do you guys think?
