M2 should expand their Auto-Japan line...

...don’t get me wrong, their Nissans and Datsuns are great, but they’re only the tip of the iceberg with vintage Japanese metal, both domestic and export models.

Looking at M2's target eras, it seems to be anywhere from the very late 40's up to the early-mid 1970's.

There’s a vast variety of models, many of which other brands just don’t seem to want to touch.

One example is this: the 1966 Mitsubishi Colt 1000F. The F stood, clearly, for Fastback. It featured Mitsubishi’s KE43 OHV I4, producing about 54hp.

It was also the car that started Mitsubishi’s rally legacy, with a class win and 4th place overall in the 1967 Southern Cross Rally in Australia.

Another notable model that, from what I’ve seen, only appears to have been done in 1/43 scale, is the 1964-67 Toyota Crown Eight, the first mass produced Japanese car with an eight cylinder engine under the hood.
