Official: Hot Wheels Collector's Event moves to Target!

No longer will collectors need to worry if their local store will be in business long enough to hold a Collector’s Day event.

Today, Hot Wheels announced that the first ever Target Collector Experience Event will be held on Saturday, June 16th.

The event will feature the L case assortment. The regular TH is Hallowback, the Super TH is King Kuda, and the L assortment also has the chance to find the Ultimate Chase Vehicle, the Bone Shaker.

Similar to K-Day, cases will feature store exclusive models, in this case, the latest Red Edition models.

- Datsun Fairlady 2000

- ‘15 Dodge Challenger SRT

- Custom ‘53 Chevy

And, there will be three first to market models:

- Lamborghini Huracan LP 620-2 Super Trofeo (orange recolor)

- ‘15 Ford Mustang GT Convertible (Black/white recolor with yellow wheels)

- ‘70 Pontiac Firebird (HW 50th Race Team, not a recolor)

One thing that made attending K-Day tricky for some people was the starting time, which was traditionally at store opening at 9am local time.

Target’s Collector Experience fixes that, as the event will start at 11am local time. So, feel free to drop in a little early and get yourself some Starbucks, if you like that sorta thing.

The only things not currently known are whether the cases will remain 36 car cases like K-Day, if the cases will be sold online early, and if whether the event is a replacement or supplement to K-Day events.

Either way, this should be good. There are a lot more Target stores in business than Kmarts, so collectors will love this.

So, should we call this new event T-Day or abbreviate it as TCE?
