For real. Tomica is coming back, once again. This was posted by an actual TOMY North America employee. They will start shipping in July, retailer(s) expected to be announced soon. They will be starting with models from their regular 120 model lineup.

New Tomica cars for the North American market will be sold on a card, in a blister, which also will include it’s original Japanese market box.
They will not be marketed as toys, rather as a ‘Highly Detailed Die-Cast Collectible’, with a marking of Age 8+, as opposed to the 3+ commonly found on Hot Wheels and Matchbox products.
This is not a joke, unlike what fintail posted on Monday. Here’s hoping this leads to so much more. I am VERY ready for Tomica to come back.
