A while ago, I posted some information from Reddit on Tomica cars returning to the US this year. Now, we have (semi) official conformation on when and where.
These models (along with others) will be sold exclusively at Walmart stores in the US and Canada in August. That’s right, we’re around a month away from Tomica’s official return to the North American market (US and Canada, at least).
The information I had posted prior showed 12 vehicles that were said to be coming to our part of the world. The two Instagram posts above show three of those same models, the Mazda CX-5, Subaru BRZ, and Suzuki Swift Sport, in their packaging with ‘Only at Walmart’ stickers.
This is some incredible news for collectors, less than a week away from the upcoming Matchbox Gathering of Friends in Albuquerque this Saturday, where I’m sure we’ll see some more awesome new diecast that will be released in the future. It’s only Monday, and it’s already starting to be a big week for collectors.
So, keep an eye on your Walmarts next month, I know I’m gonna.
