Last weekend’s post has given birth to this weekend’s
It has finally arrived!
5 long years in the waiting. First, in 2011, Jaguar released the C-X75 at the Frankfurt motor show. Pre-production F-type convertible was shown at the goodwood festival of speed in 2013. Production began in 2013.
Like its spiritual predecessor, the E-type, I think the coupe looks better than the convertible. As beautiful as the convertible is, the extra lines in the coupe show the true essence of the design.
The AutoArt F-Type R does not disappoint when it comes to the detail in the car. Truly, a sight to behold.
My biggest beefs are that it is no longer diecast but a composite. A sad trend, but realistically a move back to the origins of the type. My father’s collection includes the models made for the dealerships where they were plastic. these are still much better. There is still some heft to the vehicle, and going composite will allow them to be thinner in their modeling and do better with the panel gaps.
Honestly, white would not have been my first choice when ordering this car. the photos on the website did not inspire but I knew I wanted an F-type.
BUT- the car looks spectacular in white, especially against a dark background. Im very pleased. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again...
