Usually at this point, I’ll drop some hints about next month’s special, but with Model Citizen’s participation in Automobilia Monterey looming in a few weeks my stocklist has been focused there. I’ll be able to reveal the August MOTM sometime around 8/21.
So, about that vacation. You want a new definition of torture? Our itinerary had us driving through Albuquerque during the Matchbox convention last week, but our schedule was so tight that there was no time to stop by. If any of you were there, sorry I missed you...I REALLY wanted to go.
Also, being a big JNC/JDM fan, I thought that doing a little hunting in the Heartland for the new M2 Datsuns/Nissans might pay big dividends, but it was not to be...none were to be found. I guess that Oklahoma collectors are just as hip to the beauty of classic J-tin as we Californians are. (As a consolation prize, I did spot one of the cleanest original ‘70s Hiluxes I’ve ever seen at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum.)
