My Storage Solution and Display Cases

For those of us who are pretty solid DLM supporters! (DLM=Diecast Liberation Movement)

I've seen various storage options on the interwebs for keeping diecast cars in-check, but not many I really liked. Finally I found the holy-grail though, and I thought I'd share it here for any of you who are unfamiliar with it. Also, I recently discovered that Hobby Lobby carries great little clear cases for 1/64 scale cars and they sell them in boxes of six. I thought posting some clear images of both products along with names and links could be helpful for some of you who might be looking for something like these.

Creative Options is a sub-brand of Plano, just so you know.

This case is brilliant! I know many of you either have these or have seen collections online stored in these cases. These are double-sided; there are two doors and you can store cars on each side, 24 to a side. As you can see if you look at the yellow F-40 and the blue/black Huayra (why is that with all those Ferraris anyway . . . ?) that one space is double-width. So I threw some cardstock in there to keep the cars from bumping. I'll redo that later with plain white.

The plastic this case is made from is soft. Well, I mean, they're very sturdy. But I have no fear of the bumps the cars get while carrying these actually taking paint off or anything. I absolutely love these things. I purchased 3 of these in order to get my cars out of various drawers at work and at home. And I just wanted to see my cars together, to see what all I have. I've filled up three cases and could probably do one side of another one if I opened everything. I do have a handful of cars still on their cards though. 10/10 if I had to rate them. Brilliant.

And yes, I've removed the Huayra and swapped the red 458 with the bronze 288. Don't worry.

Second - Crystal Clear Display Cases-6 Pack by Pioneer Plastics (this title is a link too, though I don't know if it will display that way)

These I found at Hobby Lobby. They also carry other sizes if you're interested in that. I only collect 1/64. This box of 6 was $7.99.

They're great little display cases. They come in a box of six, and they are stackable. There's not a whole lot else to say about them. They may have some scuffs on them, as they are just plastic, but I really like having a few to display my customized cars. My wife likes them as well. I think because they make any cars I have out on a shelf look better. It looks more intentional and organized if they're in a few cases placed together. And hey, they keep the dust off.

I hope this helps some of you get your collections organized or displayed as you wish. I know I really enjoy having my cars together in a safe simple case that also displays them pretty well.
