Military Monday: Can That Be A Thing?

The M3A1 Scout Car, AKA the White Scout Car, came out of the White Motor Company factories in Cleveland from 1940 through 1944. Some 20,000 were built, and saw duty as patrol and scout cars, ambulances, command cars and gun tractors. You can see echoes of the Scout Car in the designs of both the M3 Halftrack and the Soviet-built BTR-40.
