French Friday: Frickin’ Wheels Fell Off!

A timely delivery of an Alpine A220 was spoiled when I opened the box to see this:

What the heck? Oh well, total cost was only $14 including shipping so I can’t feel too badly about it. For now I just shot the car with a simple background but I’m seriously considering a Le Mans diorama for cars like this.

This particular A220, driven by Grandsire and Larrouse, only made it 59 laps in the 1968 24 Hours of Le Mans before retiring. It’s a pretty basic resin car but for $14 I can’t ask for much.
