I don’t get it. What am I missing?
*Note: This is a purely opinion post. It is not meant to target anyone or to disprove them. This is simply my opinion and everyone is entitled to have their own.
These aren’t the clear models of the year from HW and MBX. The HW is good, but not worth the hype. The MBX is disproportional and ugly.
The HW is a great casting, however, it is severely over-hyped. They are almost always grabbed by scalpers collectors and I was lucky enough to get this in a trade with Mustangfan.
Also, I’m slightly OCD, so the incomplete body kit REALLY bothers me (for those who aren’t as crazy as me, it has a low front bumper and side skirts, but a normal rear bumper).
The MBX is terrible. I’m sorry (not really), but there’s no blunting it. It’s awful. The wheels are too big (and ugly), the wheel base is too long, and it is way too narrow.
Sure, it’s got good tampos, but I’d rather have a good, uncompromised cast and have to detail it myself.
This casting is extremely narrow and long. The real Cayman is wide and short.
So what would I say is the castings of the year?
I would say these two are the best of MBX and HW for the year. The Escort is great out of the package and even better once given some minor detailing. The Tesla is what I expect from MBX: perfect proportions, great wheel choice, and full details.
What would you guys (and gals) say the best casting is for HW and MBX? If you think it’s the ones I’ve shown displeasure for, why do you like them? I want to know what I’m missing.
