I scored this Bentley Continental GT on Saturday. Overall it is a great model for the price, although it does show some Minichamps quality issues.
Let’s just start with the bad. The panel gap is not the best on the hood and trunk:
The orange peel on the roof is bad (at least for a high end model):
And it has a paint affliction on the rear arches:
It’s not bad, as it just affects both of the rear fenders.
So is there anything good about it? In short, yes. I mean, why else would I buy it?
The engine is decent, not AUTOart crisp, but very nice regardless.
The wheels are a work of art:
It’s carpeted:
Every opens and closes smoothly and nicely. The doors even have a quiet ‘thunk’ when they close.
But the interior is what sold me:
Was it worth the $59?
Maybe? I’m not sure. It’s a great top shelf model, as the black paint hides most of the flaws. But I’m a Bentley fan, so I’ll enjoy this while I have it. I might end up selling it on eBay, but that’s a good bit farther down the road.
