The Lotus Élan was produced from 1962 to 1973. Colin Chapman and Lotus produced it in response to the success of roadsters such as the MGB, MG/AH Spridget, and the Triumph Spitfire and TR series.

The Élan employed the Lotus philosophy of "simplify and add lightness" and had a fiberglass body and a rigid steel backbone chassis. The car was balanced and cornered very well. The Élan was powered by the famous Lotus Twin Cam engine, which produced 105 hp. The car was unique in that it was a Lotus that actually made money, but was not unique in that it was a Lotus that broke down a lot. The Élan was ripped off by inspired the Official Jalop vehicle™ Mazda Miata.

This Corgi is a special Avengers edition. It is a replica of the car driven by Emma Peel, the spy character played by Diana Rigg on the classic British TV show. The front of the car features a high level of detail rivaling modern diecasts.
