Roving Rover is back! We just got back from Ouro Preto, and this is a big photo post showing great thing about this trip! Enjoy!!
We flew from Florianópolis to São Paulo, and we were waiting for the plane to Minas Gerais to arrive.
On the flight, the sky, clouds and ground were almost the same thing!
So much stuff! We were in 3: Me, edu-petrolhead and his colleague.
In the lunch, edu got a pizza slice and a pint of beer. He got this nice coaster with the beer!
This is were we stayed, a colonial-era house that became an inn.
I needed to snap some photos of the sunset on one of the many churches.
Oh, hi!
This was the opening ceremony, after the welcome cocktail. The speaker, Thaisa Bergmann, won the L’Oreal prize of woman in science!
Yep, Edu has a long name.
Brazilian Breakfast!! In the plate there are pães de queijo, casserole cake, bread with dulce de leche and some breads with cheese on the loaf. Coffee with brown sugar and freshly squeezed OJ.
Hehehe
So steep!
A nice colonial house transformed into a restaurant and another church on the back.
So many churches here!
Hi!
The convention center is an old metallurgic park, and they kept the old machines preserved!
And this is a school. It must be so awesome to study there!!!
A nice little park in front of the convention center.
More churches
The hills are so steep my wheels are still aching!
This is the center of the city. This is a museum, and probably was an important palace decades ago.
Wooo, minerals!
And some meteorites!!!
Uranium, hehehe
Some other awesome minerals! These last tourmalines green in the outside and pink inside look like gem sushi, haha
Inside the museum’s chapel. So much gold and splendor there...
This is an ipê amarelo, one of the national symbols of Brazil. Their bloom marks the beginning of the spring.
More photos of the palace.
And the central square. Edu took this photo on our last day, so good bye Ouro Preto!!
